I like that the DCCC's Chris VanHollen is over at Daily Kos calling out Republican House members who are all talk when they posture about challenging Bush and his vanity war. They're encouraging local blogs to stay on these dishonest war pigs who tell one thing to voters and then don't want to risk being the target of a Presidential tantrum when they actually cast their votes (and I nominate MyLeftNutmeg). I think that's a very healthy collaboration being nurtured between the DCCC and local bloggers.

. Sweet Jesus I hate Joe Lieberman too. And don't get me started on how the Senate unanimously stood behind Dick Cheney's bitch and took us one step further to war with Iran. What the hell was that?

. Speaking of HoJo, his BFF Chris Shays got the crap kicked out of him when it came to fundraising in the last quarter. Shays raised $280K to Jim Himes' $352K. Jim Himes (photo) is a true progressive who will be visiting us on Blue America later this month. It's early but it bodes well for Himes' willingness to work hard because Shays is a dinosaur but he's an entrenched dinosaur. It will be a pure delight to get behind a great candidate who has what it takes to beat him.

. And finally, our good friend and former content judge Charles P. Pierce is a regular panelist on the NPR quiz show, Wait Wait Don't Tell Me. He writes:

One of the segments is called Not My Job, in which famous people come on -- Michael Moore was on a couple weeks ago. Obama brought down the house one evening, and Elizabeth Edwards charmed us all -- and answer questions in areas far beyond their expertise.

Next Thursday evening, Wait Wait is doing a live show for free at the Pritzker Pavilion in Millennium Park in Chicago. The Not My Job guest is....wait for it... Patrick Fitzgerald. As far as I know, this is the first time he's going to be in front of a microphone in the past two years where he wasn't indicting someone.

Details are not up yet but when they are they will be here.
