Can someone explain to me how, exactly, ABC thinks that marketing a fictional docudrama about 9/11 through the scintillating stylings of Hugh Hewitt is going to get them over the ratings hump against Monday Night Football on ESPN? As Sheldon said here yesterday:
If the goal were simply to inform the public, however, ABC would have produced an actual documentary rather than a docudrama, which gives the producers license to distort facts whenever and however they wish, while also pretending that their work is somehow a re-enactment of reality.
Sheldon documented a number of right-wing bloggers who had received copies of the film, and written reviews, and noted that left-wing bloggers were not included in the film's publicity loop. But why did only right-wing bloggers and pundits get their hands on the unedited preview copies?
I don't know about you guys, but it sounds to me like the people involved in making the film had an agenda -- and it was not to do CYA and fact-checking on behalf of ABC. (In fact, the right-wing bloggers are already setting things up so that any changes made in the interests of historical and factual accuracy get portrayed as caving to a left-wing agenda -- because, you know, "reality has a well-known liberal bias.") You tell me how and why right-wingers got their hot little hands on screeners prior to final edits being made....and I'll tell you about setting up a backlash strategy beforehand in case you need one. Why the folks involved in making the film thought they might be on shaky enough ground to need a ratfuck strategy against ABC as insurance...well, that's another question altogether, isn't it?
Were I, say, on the Disney Board of Directors (ABC's parent company), I'd be asking plenty of questions due to my fiduciary obligations to my shareholders as to just how the list of pre-screening persons was determined, by whom, mailed by whom, and so on -- and why they were needed in a film that was pre-hyped as being an historical drama. Because it certainly seems to me that factual inaccuracies should be clearly labeled as "fiction" or corrected -- because they ought not be allowed to claim any reationship to history if they aren't going to portray it as accurately as possible. (Including consulting with the principals involved. See, e.g., Richard Clarke, who is ABC's terrorism analyst for the news division and who, I am told, was not consulted regarding the film. Classy. And so much for every effort at accuracy.)
Crooks and Liars has posted a number of clips on straw man arguments made by the Bush Administration and their surrogates, but none is more painfully pathetic than the attempt to whitewash the Bush Administration's knowledge of the threats posed by al qaeda that were known to the Bush Administration prior to 9/11 -- this clip from Bob Kerrey is but one example of many from C&L. (Transcript here. And while you are at it, check out some of these documentaries from Frontline on some of these same issues, based on interviews with real people who were actually on the scene -- and which come at the issues from multiple political vantage points. Refreshing.)
9/11 happened on George Bush's watch -- and no amount of pointing fingers elsewhere changes that fact. Period.
Digby posted a YouTube yesterday of Richard Ben-Vineste's questioning of Condi Rice during the 9/11 Commission public hearings that is well worth another viewing. Especially because the filmmakers claim the their ABC docudrama film is based, on some level, on the work of the 9/11 Commission.
Gee, can't wait to see if they've included the whole, unvarnished scoop on George Bush's reaction after reading the "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States." PDB while on vacation in Texas before the attacks on 9/11 ever occurred, and what actions he took after reading it (or not, as the case may be).
How about you guys? Think that will be in the film? In the interest of historical accuracy and all.
I mean, I like historical fiction, I just think it is more honest when it clearly comes with the "fiction" label. Otherwise, I might be tempted to think of it as a fraudulent attempt at partisan hackery veiled in the thin veneer of Tom Kean's tattered reputation, all tied up in a Rovian ratfuck bow. But I wouldn't want to be accused of politicizing 9/11 or anything, now would I?
PS -- For readers who are parents of children in grades 9-12, are you aware that the Scholastic Corporation has put out a teaching guide for teachers in those grades based on this ABC mini-series? You might want to discuss with your child's social studies teacher your concerns about this mini-series, that you want your child to learn information that is factually and historically accurate, and whatever other concerns you may have about this. You might also want to contact your child's principal and/or your local school board with concerns. As we get factual information on the movie, we'll certainly link it up for you, but I wanted to give all of our parents a heads up that this was potentially out there for social studies classes, at least in grades 9-12.
(For more fun with Charles Schultz and the Peanuts gang, check out the Snoopy website.)
UPDATE: Richard Clarke shares his thoughts on the docudrama's inaccuracies at ThinkProgress. And when I say "shares his thoughts," I mean tears them a new one for making crap up...

Christy!!! Your post here is a work of art. Thank you for all of the research and for all of the links. Brilliant! Not to mention what a great wordsmith you are…
Morning, hope the peanut is doing better.
I would like to hurt ABC. How do I do that? I can’t believe how much their “news” reporting sucks, and now, THIS, this LIE. Boycotting never seems to work. How can they be hurt financially (which is almost all that matters in this arena)?
Nooooo…tell me it can’t be true?
Junya got his philosophy from Charlie Brown?

God, you’re a competent writer, Christy, not the second coming of your namesake.
Christy said:
“I don’t know about you guys, but it sounds to me like the people involved in making the film had an agenda — and it was not to do CYA and fact-checking on behalf of ABC.”
The simple truth is that Repugs are doing exactly what they’ve said they will do; they are trying to invent their own “Reality”.
And hoping that viewers will join them in this Land of Oz.
While we may not be in “Kansas” anymore Dorothy, I don’t think many will join the Gizard with his Harpies and Munchkins in Oz. *g*
not to mention no commercials…
“People never lie so much as after a hunt, during a war or before an election.”

My narrative for this is “why can’t Republicans take responsibility for their own actions?” Why should the people trust them to do anything right if they always look for someone else to blame if things go wrong?
God, if you read the drivel on the Scholastic website it says nothing about “fictionalized account” - it makes it sound like it is the definitive history of what happened, and says that it is based on the 9/11 Commission Report. I especially like the statement that the 9/11 commission was created by Congress and President Bush - are they kidding? So ABC is lying through their teeth, and they’re attempting to indoctrinate our next generation with pure propaganda. This makes me absolutely ill - it’s one thing for an adult to watch this crap on TV, but it’s another thing entirely for the media and the government to be engaging in this kind of “Hitler’s Youth” tactics. My school district will be getting a phone call from me this morning, that’s for sure!

Condi cranks up the desperate rhetoric:
Morning gang — just got back from dropping the peanut off at preschool. :) She’s feeling much better, thanks, and looking mighty cute in pigtails and a Minnie Mouse outfit. Sometimes, being a momma is a very fun thing, indeed. (Especially when they are still at the hold your hand and give you a smooch good-bye stage.)
I hope that Richard Clarke, Madeline Albright, and others get air time in the MSM and come out swinging if they are misrepresented in this mini-series.

Awwwwwww.
Can anyone find another doctored drama by UHP Productions, Ltd?
The Path to 9/11 is executive-produced by Marc Platt (Empire Falls). The producers are Hans Proppe (Anne Frank) and Cyrus Nowrasteh (also the writer); and Governor Thomas H. Kean (Chair, The 9/11 Commission) is senior consultant. The director is David L. Cunningham. The miniseries is a production of UHP Productions, Ltd., and will be distributed by Touchstone Television.

This thread is another perfect example of what I was saying in a post on the previous one, so I’ll quote myself: “I was up late Monday night reading John Dean’s responses and all our interchange - when I woke up this morning, I noticed I was feeling better about, you know, everything; and I realized that I was heartened (love that word) by having this community, this truly amazing venue for connecting and sharing with people of like mind. And to have had John Dean and Joe Wilson and Dr Bob all on here on Sunday - it just blows my little mind, and heartens me. Thanks all.”
If it weren’t for FDL, we might be hearing murmers about the docu-drama’s truthiness…
Why are we suprised? Disney has a long history of propaganda. What did Hitler say; “Give me the children and in ten years I will give you the country.” People let their kids watch Disney because they think the violence and sex in their products are harmless. Subtle yes, harmless no. This “blame Clinton” movie is propaganda. The fact is the Republican Congress refused to give Clinton authorization to tap phones legally under FISA rules so he could stop 9/11 from happening. In this case, for evil to succeed, all it took was for evil men to do nothing.
Damn — Mr. ReddHedd drank the rest of the coffee. Guess I’ll be switching to tea a little earlier than usual this morning, because I don’t feel like brewing an entirely new pot of coffee…
Perhaps a docudrama is needed about the capture of the anthrax sender(s) too - oh wait, he/she/they haven’t been located yet
Just when you think that the desperation can’t sink any lower–along comes Condi.

G’head and brew it, I’ll have some. Nice and strong please.
Wow, that’s a new one. What’s gonna be next in their series of “study guides”, the official companion to that piece-of-shit Clinton documentary that breathlessly (and without evidence) alleged he was a murderer and drug-runner, the ones the WSJ Editorial Page and Jerry Falwell were hawking so much in the 90’s? “How many people did Bill Clinton kill: a timeline in bullet points” and other greatest hits can be expected. How far the venerable Scholastic name has fallen…
Thanks Christy. I have seen many suggestions for action but can someone post a site with the e-mail addresses of all the relevant parties — ABC Dept. of Fabulation, Disney Directors, Sponsors, and now, it seems, Scholastic Press (what a disappointment)?

From the Libertas, a forum on conservative thought on film:
Nowrasteh told us that he has always gravitated towards true stories. A Persian-American whose family had to flee Iran when it was taken over by Islamic fundamentalists, Nowrasteh’s work combines an appreciation for the intimate and the human, with a love of history and respect for America’s founding traditions.
GM: Tell us about the 9/11 miniseries you’re doing for ABC. This is the first time that a major network is tackling the subject matter of 9/11.
CN: Yes, and I’m very excited about it. It will be a six-hour miniseries that will be an objective telling of the events of 9/11. We will be connecting the facts and telling the story as it goes back to the first World Trade center bombing in 1993. It will be about how even back then, there were a lot of people who were ahead of the game, who were concerned about the threat of Islamic terrorism, and how they were treated. The series begins shooting this summer. The executive producer is Marc Platt, and I’m the writer and producer.
GM: 9/11 is a subject that Hollywood - Michael Moore excepted - has generally steered clear of. How do you feel about finally tackling it?
CN: Anything about 9/11 will be controversial - not necessarily because of a political point of view that may accompany a retelling of it, but because of the inherent nature of the subject matter. I commend ABC because they have continually asked me to be as truthful and honest as I can be. The producers have made every effort to be objective and tell the story truthfully - because that’s what the subject matter, and our audience, deserves.
GM: Now, you can’t make a miniseries about 9/11 without depicting Islamic terrorism. Has CAIR (Council on American-Islamic Relations) contacted you with concerns about this?
CN: No - but I wish them luck. I’m an Islamic-American, and I’m the writer and producer of the series! (laughs)
GM: What do you think of Michael Moore?
CN: To quote Team America, he’s an out of control socialist weasel (laughs). Listen. I’m probably more of a libertarian than a strict conservative. In my writing and directing, I don’t want to just be a conservative version of Michael Moore. I’m here to tell a good story first and foremost - and that’s why I can navigate the networks and get my work produced.
GM: What advice would you give to aspiring conservative and libertarian filmmakers?
CN: Don’t tar all of Hollywood with the far left-wing brush. There are many people who may be open to different points of view, and you should try and engage with them. If your work is honest and truthful, people will connect to it, and it will eventually be produced. Also, you can just go out and make your own project. New digital technology today is really making that possible. Just be persistent, keep writing and creating, and you will get your projects made.
GM: That’s great advice. Thank you so much for your time.

HOLY SHIT!!!
Has anyone read this “teaching guide’? its here http://content.scholastic.com/....._pdf_4.pdf and here http://content.scholastic.com/....._pdf_3.pdf
Among the questions:
Does the media help or hinder the War on Terror? (Gee ya bet the movie says hinder?)
After a whole set up on the method of catching the guy coming in to Washington State to blow up LAX they ask: “In the interest of protecting national security (as against
infringing on the rights of an individual) do you think
this kind of search should be allowed?” (yeah, THIS is the only kind of search that that debate is about.)
I mean, HOLY SHIT!!!

Fuckin’ Goofy !
Minnie would say “Mickey you’re fucking Goofy!!!”
ABC is not going to listen to us, but maybe we can hit them back. What if FDL starts pushing to break up media companies that already cover a market. For example a media company in the interest of not having 3 or 4 corporations brainwashing americans into facists. Would be limited to one medium in Disney’s case hypotheticaly the Chicago market could get tv the abc network, OR the disney cable channel but not both. I know the Chicago Tribune almost had to give up WGN channel 9 when they bought into the WB network, plus they had a newspaper in the market. What if we push to make the law more strict one company has one media outlet per market. Disney stock would drop JUST on the news that Democrats were pushing this so would the Fox network. Right now it seems Karl Rove says a talking point and all the MSM discuss it and repeat it its like having only one news channel. Something has to be done!
This 9/11 series is pure, GOP propaganda in the election season. The executive producuer might as well be Karl Rove.
The way to hurt ABC is to hurt all the sponsors for this unspeakable rubbish. We need someone to organize a boycott of the advertisers who are paying for this trash. Moveon.com, where are you?
If you’re concerned about where to get your next Harry Potter fix while boycotting Scholastic, you can get the British editions from amazon.co.uk. (Which Ms. Redshift and I always do anyway, because British children’s books should be British, not Americanized versions.)
Christy, glad you’re on our side! Excellent piece.
Regarding the agitprop titled ‘The Road to 9/11′.
If you needed further proof the media is a corporate tool, here ya go.
Isn’t ABC part of Disney, and didn’t ABC/Disney refuse to distribute Fahrenheit 9/11 because it was too ‘controversial’?
Regarding “something has to be done,” FDLers can use FDL’s Spotlight function to forward FDL posts to the TM. Yesterday I forwarded Sheldon’s post (see Christy’s link) to the WaPo and the WSJ.
Obviously, there are a lot of other options too.
OT, in case anyone missed it John (the worker) Dean emailed Jane answers to another 100 of our questions. Jane posted it before TRex’s Late Nite thread. Mr. Dean, says when he gets time, he’ll email her more.
I’ve read the 9/11 commission report a few times, but I’m not sure I can bring myself to watch this fantasy flick to do any fact checking. Maybe I’ll save it to the DVR and watch it a few minutes at a time….then go disinfect.
Redshift @ 38
Other than the considerably higher price is there a big difference.
I’m just really hoping that football wins here - this garbage is up against not only Monday Night Football on ESPN, but also against Sunday Night Football on NBC, featuring the old ABC MNF broadcast team (I think), and featuring THE marqee game of the first weekend - the Battle of the Mannings, Peyton and the Colts versus Eli and the Giants. I hope they bury ABC that first night - and then most people won’t tune in just for the second night.
I saw somewhere on DKos yesterday a diary regarding the director being related somehow to the Left Behind authors. Anyone have a link to that diary? Am having trouble finding it this morning and I forgot to bookmark it last night when I was researching this article — wanted to take another peek at it…
to klyde at 43 - the UK versions of the HP books (I have them all) don’t have a lot of differences any more, but some of the slang is a bit Americanized in the US version. The first one, of course, had a different title (HP and the Philosopher’s Stone, which the US publisher thought American kids wouldn’t get)and more language differences.
geordie at 44 — that ought to be a good game, too!
That Left Behind Series is something else…imagine waking up one morning and all true believers are nowhere on the planet?
Thanks for the heads up on the this Christy in your usual great style. It is very frustrating when the GOP controlled big media (Disney)use their “trust” which was developed over many years of “family television and movies” to lie to to the American people. Unfortuneately there is not much critical thinking going on in the American public right now and they are going to take this in and internalize it without out much question.
We have to try and counter it but the momentum is on their side. We should not go quietly however.
ccmask @ 47
I can hardly wait!
So, really now, what’s the difference between a fake documentary and the news? Or the twisted facts and agenda-driven spin we hear from the talking heads and pretty much every Republican office-holder with access to the media?
Not much, I don’t think, not much. The news doesn’t come with a disclaimer, and no news anchor that I’ve ever watched has said that what he or she is reading is their interpretation of what’s happening – most people who watch the news assume that what they are seeing and hearing is the truth. We know better, but most people don’t.
Some of this is directly attributable to the corporate interests that increasingly drive the media, with those corporate interests’ number one priority being the bottom line, and if truth and objectivity are casualties in that pursuit - oh, well – too bad, so sad.
Something tells me that the competing networks may end up doing the heavy lifting - tearing down ABC’s product as a way of improving their own ratings for those evenings; the danger there is that people may tune in just to see what the fuss is all about.
I can only hope that the few people who do watch will do so with a somewhat jaundiced eye. That a few will have a “wait a minute…that’s not what happened…” moments, and realize they are being punk’d.
ABC has heard from me, and I will be looking into who is sponsoring this propaganda.
I will be watching football – I would be doing that even if there were something else worth watching, because I love football.
[Christy - glad Fi is feeling better…did you have any twinges about the Minnie Mouse (ABC/Disney connection) outfit? It just kills me that things we all have such good childhood memories about will be a little tarnished as a result of this flap.]
WHO ARE THE ADVERTISERS?
Does anyone have a list of them?
So, ABC feels comfortable going ahead with wingnut fantasy parading as truth, but CBS is hounded by these same wingnuts into cancelling the genuine article. Just so we know where we stand…
So, Christy are you sayin’ that in addition to the possible Federal Campaign finance Law violations, there may also be Sarbanes-Oxley compliance issues.
You know guys, under Sarbanes-Oxely memebers of the board of Directors are personally liable if they fail to exercise oversite. The days when a Board of Directors could just be a rubber stamp for management and suffer no consequences where supposes to end when the Sarbanes-Oxely Act was passed.
Wake up and smell the corporate accountability!
BettY Jane
That is the question we have all been asking for days. If anyone finds out, we all want to know, cause then we know what to do.

S-O will get their attention, all right. Gosh, that takes all the fun out of being on a corporate board! And the Disney Board has been so free of problems and controversy and internal politics and such . . .
Email your local TV critics about this. I just did to Tim Goodman at the San Francisco Chronicle. Maybe we can find a few more Tom Shales out there who are outraged at this kind of thing.
Interesting. In the Scholastic Corp Student Resource Sheet 1, it refers to many of the countries involved from the Middle East, including Afghanistan, Iran, Egypt and Yemen, but no Saudi Arabia!
Correct me if I’m wrong, but weren’t 14 of the 19 hijackers Saudis? No need to invclude them!
“[U]nder Sarbanes-Oxely memebers of the board of Directors are personally liable if they fail to exercise oversite.’
Although that’s true, I thought that Sarbanes (SOX) was focused on fiduciary responsibilities such as adequate financial disclosures and reliable accounting. I’m not sure how SOX comes into play with pre-screening reviews.
The 9-11 anniversary piece I’m looking forward to is Ted Koppel’s “The Price of Security” on the Discovery Channel.
Hmmmm . . . didn’t Ted used to work for ABC? Back when they did news that was, you know, news?
(/snark)
Why am I getting the feeling that the advertisers are laying low on purpose? Normally, they are all over this, trumpeting the huge investment they are making so that we don’t have to watch endless commercials…
Anne at 64 — I have heard they are running this movie commercial free, but I’m certain they have some sort of corporate sponsorship going into the show. I’m just not aware at this point who and what that is going to be. The official version of 9.11 is fiction and propaganda… so why not make up another story?
There has been no proof or evidence which would stand up in a court of law that AQ or Bin Laden had a hand in 9.11. For those who think this is an outrageous statement.. please submit your evidence.
You might want to read the blog of Nafeez Mosaddeq Ahmed who wites from London about the terrorism issues.
http://nafeez.blogspot.com/
I don’t know what happened on 9.11.. or rather what made it happen. I do believe rather strongly that what we were told was almost all lies. The liars (bush cheney) are not going to change their stripes and start spewing the truth. They are self serving liars and 9.11 served very nicely to accomplish many things:
An excuse to attack the ME and control it politically and preserve the USA’s access to oil and gas.
It provided the perfect cover to take away YOUR rights…. first the patriot act… then the NSA snopping… and of course you can’t even travel without being search anyone. You have to tolerate armed militia on trains, in bus depots, subways. Yet no attack or even evidence of a plot has been discovered and all the orange “alerts” were frauds.
There is growing evidence that the 7.7 Lo ndon attacks were the result of a black ops infilitrating and setting up dupes to make it appear as arab terrorism.
This is all part of a campaign to manipulate the public through fear and grow the military and their support industries.
We have entered the slippery slope to fascism here in America. When they completely shut down the press we will have arrived. Right now they only ise false stories and disinformation, manufactured news in the form of propaganda to influence people. If this does not work, they WILL take more drastic measures and your democracy will be a quaint memory. It’s almost unrecognizable now… with the exception of a few thruth seekers who are waging the fight WITHIN the system as it is dismantled before our very eyes. Witness the stolen election! There are more to come!
Christy — good question about running this crap opposite Monday Night Football. But think of what market they are targeting: SOCCER-SECURITY MOMS. That’s the segment of the market that has been most likely to flee the right-wing, also most likely NOT to watch Monday Night Football. Were we on the stick, we’d have been working on finding alternative material to put on a competing channel that would appeal to this target market.
Hence the push with Scholastic; the kids will get this crap and then bug their Soccer-Security Mommas with it.
I have to hope that kids are smart like mine, although maybe more discrete; my son slipped this weekend, started yelling, LIAR!! when Bush appeared on the television. Um, doesn’t sit well with the indie/right-leaning father…
looseheadprop — EXCELLENT!! Shareholder activism! Maybe we ought to brainstorm about buying some Disney stock, just a few shares, and then drafting a shareholder protest, along with flexing some SarbOx muscles? Stephen Parrish, you out there? Got any suggestions on the SarbOx line of query?
cbl — A group out of Kona HI? I’d put money on one of two groups putting funding into it: Latter Day Saints or Moonies. What’s your take?
Gotta’ run, first day without kids in tow and I need to run like the wind through all my errands!!
p.s. TRex, in case you stopped in. You are such a bad influence. Bought those Mauna Keas. Only hope the next mountain in the series is an ugly one…
ABC’s “the Note” is back and you don’t have to be a careful reader to wake up and see the coordinated expenditure (to use an FEC term)
http://abcnews.go.com/Politics.....?id=156238
Right off the bat, the Note lists a series of things republicans are counting on to save their cookies in Novemeber, such as”
They know it’s coming because it is coming from ABC/Disney.
The very next thing they cover, because the coordination between ABC and the WH is SOOOOO total, is how the WH is doing the set up for their little fictional mini series (which, oddly, they manage to never directly mention).
So, what PR flacking is the WH doing for the “docudram”? Well how about this?
Gee whix, I wish I had a spokes model with that kind of bullhorn pimping my mini series.Oh, and it’s not just Bush. ABC gets preferential treatment from Bush’s new favorite:
Hey, their not even bothering to go through the motions of pretending to spread it around. Nope, it’s all ABC, baby!
And it’s a full court press this week, the week leading up to the glorious launch of the mini series.
And the purpose of all this? Karl Rove explains his strategy:
They are so arrogant, they don’t even bother to hide it. They just laid it all out and dared anyone to stop them or call them into account.
And Sonate,
You are right about S-O being ralted to accounting and related to not letting the corporation violate other laws. I would say spending $40 million to make a campaign commercial in flagarent violation of all campaign fiance spending limits, might just fit the bill from both the accounting perspective and the compliance perspective. It’s certainly worthy of the work necessary to prodice a prosecution memo.—Hint hint any government lawyers who lurk.
Then there is also the issue of abuse of the airways. Broadcast licenses come with strings attached (though you would never know it these days-the FCC is a joke).
What can we do about this? Please Help!
Valley Girl @ 1
I agree. May I suggest one minor edit? In this para,

pluk, haven’t seen you much at emptywheel’s lately (or here for that matter, our loss). If you haven’t seen it, you probably want to check out the

emptywheel has absolutely infinite patience.
I’m biased, but I scored it a clean knock out. YMMV.
Someone should check to see when Mickey’s latest extension on his copyright runs out. Every time it comes up to expire, Disney feeds enough money and propaganda, in the mix they and their governmental patrons deem appropriate, to incumbents and their parties so as to find a way to give that copyright even more life. I think it’s time it ran out.
Scholastic is the publisher of the Harry Potter books. JK Rowling is no conservative, and she might not like hearing about this activity on the part of her publisher from you. She has a web site, (sorry, I don’t have the link, but Google will bring it up) and it can be used for this purpose. Also, tell Scholastic that you won’t be letting your child purchase or read the new Harry Potter book, due to the publishers bias. They’ll perk up their ears.
lhp, WOW, your 7:08 is a stand alone post.
THANK YOU

You are right about Clarke — odd since he is a PAID CONSULTANT TO ABC. Also, it is true — no commerical sponsorship (this is not by desire — they could not get anyone to pay). What is most troubling is that ABC is now making this into a public service undertaking — no commercials and allowing the world to download the show for free. If I had a piece of propaganda to get out to the masses for the biggest impact — I would make it free.
OfT: Brainstorming, I wonder if FDL T-Shirts would sell, “I met John Dean at FDL, 3 September 2006″ (or something more catchy).

Richard Clarke shares his thoughts on the docudrama’s inaccuracies at ThinkProgress. And when I say “shares his thoughts,” I mean tears them a new one for making crap up…

If ya don’t like football, (or if you think Peyton Manning may be the most overrated QB since Jeff George). . .
Also Sunday, CBS is bringing back an updated version of the “9/11″ docu produced by brothers Gedeon and Jules Naudet and firefighter James Hanlon.
the real deal if you haven’t already seen it
LMAO.
Lamont parade on cnn now
I don’t understand why Bill’s sitting quiet?
I think the only people who will watch this program are the ones who already have hate filled hearts. I predict the football games will top the viewing crowd.Plus ABC will suffer in the ratings war for a long time to come. 9 out of 10 people I speak to say they Despise Bush, no show no words will change the tide of the Nov. elections.
I’m going to send this story to ABC’s competitors. Shouldn’t they love to report on ABC’s pseudo journalism?
John Casper @90…Yes, I believe that’s the site JK Rowling owns/runs/controls. I think post
