Maura may be right, Lieberman may have a crack invisible ground team that nobody knows about, but it sure seems like signs of desperation and meltdown are appearing in Holy Joe's campaign. Yesterday at the Wake Up WalMart event the paid LieberYouth staffers started crowding and heckling Ned when he talked (and I have to mention here, local bloggers who are Ned supporters who travel with the Kiss Float are universally polite to the Lieberman staff and actually on quite friendly terms at this point).
But today they really went beyond the pale in the nasty department when Ned appeared in Meriden:
Paid Lieberman staffers pack an event pre-appearance, put on Lieberman shirts when Ned arrives, and start screaming and acting like two year olds. Ahhh, the smell of frustration and desperation …
Of course, they couldn’t help but accost one particular Lamont supporter – a World War II hero who just arrived in Connecticut today, on his own dime.
These LieberPeople are, as Tim T. says, paid. They do what they're told to do by the campaign, and what they were told to do today was heckle a senior citizen.
Stoller has more:
There were only four booths and six stools in the whole place, and they were basically all occupied. When Ned went in, all of the supporters ripped off their 'civilian clothes' and revealed their Lieberman T-Shirts.
A large man, around 50 years old or so, then started screaming at Ned, "Are you an Al Sharpton Democrat, or a Bill Clinton Democrat?" Ned was trying to answer, and the gentleman kept yelling. The Lamont press secretary tried to intervene, and meanwhile, the people behind the counter who owned the restaurant were horrified and embarrassed. Then Ned Lamont went up to the few people in regular clothes and introduced himself, even as the Lieberman supporters kept screaming. He also tried to introduce himself to the Lieberman staffers, but to no avail. The screaming continued, and it was so abrasive that he left, and the whole crowd followed him outside.
These kids poured out, and a half a dozen reporters were mostly outside. The large man kept yelling, and was joined by one particularly obnoxious Lieberman supporter who started yelling about national security and how Lamont would endanger the country. The messaging seemed rehearsed. The Lieberman supporters started getting aggressive, pushing some of the Lamont staffers. When confronted, the Lieberman staffers said that they are just doing what the bloggers did.
In the whole affair, one photographer caught an elbow and got a bloody nose. It seems that the Lieberman campaign is explicitly setting up their supporters at Lamont events in tense and aggressive situations, all in the presence of reporters. When asked, the Lieberman campaign is expressing outrage at the unsavory and unruly behavior of the Lamont supporters.
The anger is all Joe's, and he is now paying goons to physically express it.
Classy.

Colbert! Ned!!
despicable tactics. let’s hope this is the last time we see the LieberYouth
**crickets chirping**
Sure sounds like the 101st Fighting Keyboard brigade have left their basements to join the battle. Young Republicans just following the example of their elders, from Bolton and his thugs intimidating the Florida recount right up to Bush the Younger’s great European adventure week before last.
Give it up Lieberman - we have more important battles to fight - like the Ugly Republicans
funny pic BTW
No it won’t be the last time. I hope they DO keep it up to the point where the press will ask Ned about it, and he can be gracious. Lieberstraum will of course snarl and whine.
IOW, Ned wins.
There’s a world of difference between the deft touch of the float and physical confortation.
Symbolic I would say.
damn — it sounds like the Free Republic crowd has shown up to cover for their Lieberman — I dont use the word “fascist” casually but such behavior is characteristic of Fascism where democratic activities are disrupted by rightwing bullies. It sounds like the LieberYouth have morphed into the LieberJugend.
Scary!
We are fighting for the future of America here, folks!
Jane,
This diary would make a great LTE for the CT papers. Lieberman’s staff should be ashamed. The Lamont ad with Lieberman morphing into Bush is becoming prophetic at this point.
Maybe pictures should be taken and attempts made to ID the GOPerps.
Of course, they couldn’t help but accost one particular Lamont supporter – a World War II hero who just arrived in Connecticut today, on his own dime.
Wow-is Commander Codpiece’s daddy pulling for Ned, too?
What is great about the (potential) desperation of team Lieberman is that it is happening too late for him to do anything effective. I really expected some big event today if it were gonna come. Tomorrow is probably too late and Sunday is way too late.
My guess is Lieberman is deciding right now to see what happens in the primary, hopes he wins, expects he won’t, and is vowing to fight another day….
dont those idiots realize they were hurting poor old Joe more then they were hurting Ned Lamont? people who passed by that scene saw only that lieberman supports were screaming at the opposition candidate….
I cannot believe Joe would be that dumb as to hire people to do something like this
Senator Clinton comes through today in dealing with Rumsfeld. Keep it up! Do it! We like it! Be the Democratic leader we know you can be!
I’d love someone to cross reference pics of the lieber-youth with the college repubs who pull this crap all the time. That would be too sweet.
There’s such a treat of a photo on NYT’s homepage right now.
Go look.
David Ehrenstein 7 - i should have been more specific. i meant the this election as “the last time”. I know they will be at every event from now until the polls close.
My favorite bit is “because this is how the bloggers treated Joe”.
Yes, we invaded his personal space, injured photographers, and physically pushed his supporters.
My god, why don’t they just get banners that read: “VOTE FOR SUMMER!”* That’s about the level of their discourse.
* from “Napoleon Dynamite”
Middle class riot, eh? By their playbook shall ye know them.
By the way — great graphic, Monk!
Holy Joe has LieberGoons?
Shouldn’t their shirts be an brown as Joe’s undies?
Assholes.
I can’t wait to beat these fuckers on August 8.
Sound like another brooks brothers riot.
Today we saw Hillary change course because of what I’m calling the “Lamont Effect.” The new poll numbers are starting to have there affect on the political debate and just like Hillary has decided to move toward our position on the war, so too will we start seeing more move to the left. On “Countdown” tonight they started to talk about how all of Washington and the Democratic establishment is watching the Ct. primary and how HoJo’s problems may soon be their’s, so move toward progressives is the new course.
Holy Crap. This kind of peels away the “Nice Guy” image Lieberman seems to think he owns, doesn’t it?
Left this behind on the last thread - took me so long to type it, I couldn’t let it be orphaned…
I support Ned Lamont because I believe he cares. Anyone who volunteers to teach and mentor kids who might not otherwise have that kind of attention is someone who knows the future is in our kids. And I think when he works with these kids, and sees the hard road ahead for them, which, instead of being paved smoother, is being riddled with potholes due to the misplaced priorities of the current administration, it inspires him to action.
Between these kids and his own kids, he sees the tremendous promise they represent, and contrasts it with the insanity of continuing to send our young men and women into war zones on the basis of policies that have been failing almost from Day One.
Joe Lieberman has been a tire with a slow leak that has finally fallen flat, hampering the forward movement of the vehicle he is attached to. He is a flat tire that can no longer be patched up and put back on the car. I think Ned finds it enormously frustrating to see a clear path and a clear direction and realize that with the flat tire that is Joe Lieberman, CT would never get where it needs to go, and neither would the country.
Ned is a progressive liberal in the best sense of that term, and in keeping with where we are today. He is a man of action, a man who knows how to listen to people, a man who is not going to abandon Connecticut for months and years on end while he basks in an over-rated notion of his own glory.
I believe that Ned Lamont is for a lot of things, much more than he is just against Joe Lieberman.
He represents hope, which I think many of us are thirsty for.
Is Tuesday EVER going to get here? I feel like I’m waiting for Christmas and it’s STILL 5 days away… *g*
My God, Jane, now they’ve added actual battery to their repertoire?
Incredible behavior.
You know..the rethugs are supporting Joe because he’s a thug too but as soon as the election is over in November (and Ned wins), they will dump him like a red-hot potato. Joe-the-traitor really isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed.
Jane. Be careful out there, hon.
Some campaigns do hire goon-squads that can be particularly intimidating, and dangerous.
I will never get over seeing video of the hired goons storming of the Miami-Dade County Board of Elections in 2000, and its caption labelling each of the DeLay staffers who were leading that pack of crooks.
I am still convinced that election was stolen. I’m hoping this one won’t be, thanks to the courage and efforts of people like you.
Hey Joe, how old are we today? 2 years old? Yeah, I thought so.
After August 8th, Joe Lieberman is going to have to be dragged off-stage, kicking and screaming, to a doctor ready to prescribe heavy medication. He will be weeping openly for weeks, shreiking “whyyyyy, whyyyy, whyyyy????” So incredibly sad.
Hey Jane (waves) - or anyone else up on CT - I just signed up at the Lamont Blog about 30 minutes ago. Please call me now. I’ll be up until midnight.
Whoa and whoa! Considering there were reporters there and considering one got socked in the nose, don’t ya think this is gonna make the news and not in a very good way for Lieberman?
This seems so incredibly counterproductive.
Adie! I thought the exact same thing. And Jane, please do not travel alone. Please?
Jane & Christy –
I posted several comments on the TESTIFY!!! theme at the end of the last thread — the last of which explains why it is the perfect rebuttal to the race-baiting LieberThugs.
I suggest compiling posts as a copy/paste kernel for a late night thread — inviting every poster from every progressive blog to chime in.
It could be a huge counter-weight to the negativity coming from the other side — and the beginning of the NED LAMONT Landslide!!!
Is there any video of the event?
Lisa Dawn at 31
I sent you an email a while ago after you asked mty about my USAF time. It came back. I haven’t seen you since then. Nice to see you.
Oh man, someone needs to get these people on video doing this sh*t. Get it up on YouTube, and send it to every media outlet and blog covering this election.
Throw their antics in their faces.
As a WWII aircraft buff, I can help a little here. Lieberman is bailing out of a Mitsubishi Zero (yes, the same company that makes Mitsubishi cars), and Ned is flying a Chance Vought F4U Corsair, one of the prettiest little planes of WWII, and perhaps my favorite.
Have a soft landing, Joe! Hoope you packed some shark repellant.
Why is this happening? I can’t think of a scenario in which JL benefits from having rude, unruly, kids, with JL t-shirts, heckling Lamont and Lamont supporters, in front of reporters covering a publically noticed event.
The only thing that could hurt Lamont is if Lamont supporters responded in kind and there was a major violent confrontation with lots of folks arrested. IMO, their best tactic is to stay totally cool through Tuesday.
It sounds like a really bad skit, from a really bad comedy troupe.
Hopefully the press will get it.
It’s an old tactic. They’d love nothing more than to get in a fight with Lamont supporters in front of reporters, then try and blame it on Ned.
Watch yourselves.
To Hope @ 36. Sorry. For the last two months I’ve been at work and have only come home for naps and showers. But now my big project is done and I have TONS of comp time that I’ll be using for this campaign.
I’m sorry that I didn’t get back with you.
Wow, seems like the Brooks Brothers riot redux.
Pathetic, yet not surprising.
I’ll be there tomorrow, and at 6′4″/280# I doubt any loudmouth college republican will get pushy when I’m around. :)
How is it that pat bucannan started making so much sense? scare-boro on in background.
After reading Stoller’s piece on MYDD, I made a comment at the end of the last thread that the Lieber youth needed to change their shirt color from white to brown.
That comment was too flippant. They have teens and young adults who have poorly developed judgment and impulse control being given permission by adults in authority to act anti-socially. Someone is going to get hurt.
I dont worry about Jane — she’s one tough cookie — in her previous incarnation she had to deal with some real serious bullies — these tactics are meant to intimidate and scare-off other Lamont volunteers and supporters.
Can we hope that the people who are physically injured will file charges? Or at least complain publicly about the Lieberman ’supporters’ and their actions?
Morans.
Reminds me of the bourgeois riot. Same thuggish tactics by outside operatives.
Anybody tape them so we can know who they are?
I get that these thugs were trying to pick a fight — but in what way is that helping Lieberman? And when I ask that question, I mean either next Tuesday or next November. I just don’t get it.
The only thing I can guess is that they are planning their moves based on Liberman’s reactions — and he personally would have lost it completely from what I gather from the diary at Kos.
Maybe they expected Ned to smack someone????
Losers.

Awesome Anne @ 26. That’s what I like about Ned as well-his humility, his humanity. He’s not doing it for ego, he’s doing it because he believes the people of CT should be better served. And despite his patrician upbringing, he has a long track record of giving back to the community.
He’s not a greedy Republican fuck who says “I got mine, fuck you.” He says, “I got mine, so let me help you get yours too, there’s plenty to go around.
Bravo Ned, and Bravo Jane too. And Pach, and CT Bob and Christy and Spazeboy and everybody else who is busting their ass in one way or another for the future of our country.
Yes, start videotaping the thugs. Let them know you are taping and it might tone down their behavior.
And it’s always good to see a Monk graphic!
Urban Pirate, that’s so good to know! Welcome to the campaign!!!
I guess this is Lieberman’s version of “gloves off?” I don’t think these tactics will go down well in Connecticut. Politics is NOT a contact sport here. This boorish behavior will turn off anyone who has been wavering on the fence - perhaps considering Lieberman “pros” like his seniority.
IMO, if the Lamont campaign keeps its cool, makes sure every event Lamont goes to from now till the 8th has lots of enthusiastic Lamont supporters who stay calm and polite in the face of Lieberman’s mob tactics - this latest pathetic ploy will blow up in Lieberman’s face. (Has anyone notified Jennifer Messina of the NY Times about this latest maneuver?)
Once again Lieberman is being whiney, childish and stupid. He can’t leave the scene soon enough as far as I’m concerned… Joey, don’t let the door hit you on the way out.
Props to Ned for turning the other cheek. Leaving aside any of the religious connotations, it makes for damn good politics in a situation like this. Or, as we like to put it around here:
DON’T FEED THE TROLLS!
Especially when they show up in the flesh. Just hold up the cameras, nice and high - they get scared of bright lights and the fish eye can hypnotize them.
Desperation is right. And it seems to me that the desperation is escalating to the point where someone could really be hurt - and I don’t mean “bloody-nose hurt.”
Can’t tell you how angry this makes me after listening to Dan Gerstein on Hardball tonight talking about the smear campaign that has been waged against Joe Lieberman, and flat-out lying about Jane’s involvement.
I think wherever Ned goes, a camera should go with him. That camera should be filming every single event, and someone from the Lamont campaign needs to quietly inform the Lieberman campaign that they will not hesitate to turn the film over to the cops and press charges against any Lieberman supporter who exhibits physical violence against anyone present at any campaign event.
This also means that, as hard as it might be, those on the ground working for Lamont have to exercise restraint and not allow themselves to be drawn into any physical altercations.
Lots of cameras. All the time.
Lieberman’s campaign is devolving into something reminiscent of Malkin & Coulter.
“Why is this happening?“
IMO, they’re trying desperately to provoke a reaction.
This far back in the polls, they have nothing to lose. This strategy tells you how desperate they are. They are scared they will do so badly in the primary that they won’t be able to run in the general.
Anybody get the name of the WWII hero who came to CT on his own dime?
That sounds like a great photo op in the Sunday papers in CT. Nobody has a more anti-war cred than a veteran, who has actually been in combat. “Guarding the gulf coast from under a table, snorting coke off a stripper’s rock hard ass,” not so much.
End it on Tuesday.
Calling Spazeboy - document every moment from now on through tuesday.
Will it make the news, or is it just adding to the “nasty campaign on both sides” narrative?
I love the idea of keeping a cam with you. Many have phone cams — don’t forget them. My friend in NYC keeps a little digital cam in his pack which he calls his “bro-cam” which he uses to film any citizen/police interactions he sees. I urge all going to CN to get digitalized. The fear of shame is a mighty deterent.
This Brown Shirt tactic calls for the graphic genius of darkblack –
The weepin’ Joe image, grafted onto a Star Wars Emperor Palpitane image — the hood, the withered face, the heart consumed by power:
It’s MY Seat, Ned — don’t you understand? MY. SEAT.
I suggest that folks start referring to this as Joe’s burger joint putsch.
I really have to agree with what was said upthread: video 24/7. The only way to combat the punkass crap is with solid evidence of their behavior.
Sure, Joe can deny it all he wants, but he can’t wash away the taint.
Dan Gerstein is the latest in a long line of political leeches like Bob Shrum. Anyone who works in Corporate America can tell that consultants are worthless. He’s no different.
And that upper lip is crying out for a sweet porn-stache!
Really, this is just mind-boggling.
Joe’s Brownshirts? In Connecticut, with all it’s recently-European families?
That campaign has lost its mind.
Jane,
This can be fixed quickly at little cost to the Lamont campaign. All Ned has to do is hire some serious professional security guys, who are quiet and polite, but wearing armbands to indicate who they are. This juvenile harassment shit will stop in a heartbeat. I’d strongly recommend that the campaign take this action, because I suspect what is going on here is that the LieberYouth are trying to provoke a really ugly incident which will reflect badly on Ned in the media. Let’s stop this thing quick before it has a chance to escalate.
Bullseye, ojs, I guessed the Corsair, but appreciate your confirmation upthread. I’ll definitely take your word for it on the “zeke.”
Interesting. Obvious intimidation tactics. And the Lamont campaign doesn’t want to use their fists. Ok. It’s his campaign. Perhaps then, some behind-the-lines actions?
At 3:00 a.m. this morning leave papers all around Lieberman HQ. The papers inform Lieberman that the entire episode was filmed. Already, photo ID links some of the ruffians to his paid staff. Federal charges will be filed Monday morning, along with ethics complaints before the US Senate. Sign it…anonymous. heh
At 8:30 a.m., someone shows up at Lieberman HQ, and moves into the parking lot. Leaflets are left under windshields. The leaflets notify that the Lieberman folks will all be locked out of further employment in the Democrat Party due to violence Lieberman promoted on Aug. 3. Your paycheck stops Aug. 9. signed…anonymous
If Mr. Lamont won’t let fists fly…then jack with their minds.
Ghostman
-ck- @ 62
Man, you barely need to change the faces….
And Anne at #58 is right on. Cameras everywhere.
The LieberYouth sound like HighSchool Republicans.
At a Lamont scheduled event, not a single Lamont staffer had a video cam?
grs @ 73
Good question.
I quite agree about the cameras! Whenever I go to a demonstration, I thoroughly document the scene with a digital camera. I make it a point to photograph police and suspected undercover spies.
Photography is quite a prophylactic for disrupters … you can even fake it with a noncamera cellie by acting as if you are taking pics ! It scares the malefactors !

I know. I get that part. Still…
HopeSprings at 6:32 knows what she’s talking about. So do I. So does Jane.
There’s courage, which Jane has in heroic measure, and there’s common sense.
Hey. Bear with us. We’re used to being too “self-involved”, as that troll said a few days ago. We need her wise counsel to add to yours & all the rest, to get thru the next few yrs…
I have had some sympathy for Joe Lieberman, up to this point — now there is none. He has completely crossed over to the dark side, and is now a lost soul.
5 - 4 - 3 - 2 - 1
presto disapearo
And Leslie, but I know you’re going to be there
I can’t believe that these are members of the same party. It just proves, to me, that Joe is a true Republican.
Badly EPU’d, and running to catch up:
Why do I support Ned Lamont?
It comes down to a basic matter of trust.
I trust Ned Lamont to listen to the people of Connecticut and the people of this country (after all, we all will be paying his salary) and to represent what is best about America.
I trust Joe Lieberman to listen to the rich and the powerful, and do their bidding.
I trust Ned Lamont to hold the Bush administration accountable for the tragicly ill-conceived and mismanaged war in Iraq, and to provide leadership in bringing it to a timely and appropriate end.
I trust Joe Lieberman to back George W. Bush and the neocons and their stupid war, without limitation, and to offer no help whatsoever in bringing it to an end.
I trust Ned Lamont to recognize the importance of our constitutional system of checks and balances, and to provide backbone to the Congress in the struggle to regain its rightful place in that formula.
I trust Joe Lieberman to enable the Bush administration’s illegal war on our Constitution, always being there when Bush needs a hand or a shoulder to cry on, and letting the infernal unitary executive philosophy of government destroy what our founding fathers created and what thousands upon thousands of American service members have fought and died to defend.
I trust Ned Lamont to recognize the crucial role that the United States Supreme Court plays in our society, and to uphold his obligation to ensure that anyone who gets on that court can be trusted to uphold our Constitution. I trust Ned to oppose any nominee to the Court who does not meet that test, and to support a filibuster as long as needed to keep them from being confirmed.
I trust Joe Lieberman to treat future Supreme Court nominations–particularly those by the Bush administration–as opportunities to earn brownie points with the president by supporting. I trust Joe to try to pull a fast one on the American people and to have his cake and eat it too by helping to end filibusters of Supreme Court nominees who are unfit to serve, just as he did with Alito.
I trust Ned Lamont to faithfully use the powers of his office to stand firmly behind women’s rights, including the right of choice, and in doing so to be open and transparent as to where he stands.
I trust Joe Lieberman to sell himself as a friend of women and choice, while not only enabling appointments like Alito’s but also offering rape victims in need of emergency contraception a “short ride” to another hospital.
I trust Ned Lamont to breathe new life and vigor into the Democratic Party, helping it to rise to the challenge of digging the country out from under six years of horrible abuse at the hands of George W. Bush and the neocons, including Joe Lieberman. I trust Ned to be a leader of the national Democratic Party who will recruit and inspire other fresh and talented people to become candidates for public office.
I trust Joe Lieberman to be the king of the dead-enders, a stick in the mud of politics, a crony of lobbyists and Republicans who will fight to the bitter end to let the Democratic Party be destroyed rather than see its leadership go to people like Ned Lamont.
That’s just off the top of my head.
When you hire College Republicans this is what you get. And each generation is less civil and more uncontrollable than the previous. These are the abortion clinic protesters and other people who spend their days spewing hate. A number of them are probably the children who were used by protesters to intimidate people, children who have grown up in houses of vitriol.
Joe Lieberman should be ashamed of himself, and call off his mangy curs. I wonder how Barbara Boxer and Bill Clinton feel about supporting this guy now.
Hadassah’s parents would be horrified — just sayin’
piggybacking on cosmo, it also sounds like an inexperienced advance team. My guess is they already understand, the battlefield constantly changes. What worked fine two weeks ago doesn’t anymore. Lamont people have to scout out anywhere Ned will appear. Next time, they have to spot what is obviously an “ambush.” How you handle it is a separate issue, but good reconnaissance is the first requirement.
OT, I suspect some of Joe’s people will be paying African Americans to go after you Jane. They had your picture before the Clinton thing. They’ll come up and verbally assault you, trying to get you to throw the first punch.
Jane, this sounds terribly, terribly familiar. And for it to happen right after Tom DeLay was there? And the College Republicans being drafted for assistance?
We know about the Brooks Brothers “riot.” But what really sets off my alarms is the eerie parallels to this incident from April.
Notice any similarities?
Be careful out there, y’all. The Bugman and his swarm have infested CT. Nothing good can follow.
Probably best to stay away from references to a foreign political party of the middle part of the last century. The comeback will be that lefty blogs are racist and anti-s…
I think Lieberman got a heady taste of power in his selection as Vice Presidential candidate in 2000. So close to the Presidency. He wants it, he wants it. I would say that there is something very tight going on now between him and the top Republican power structure, which he likely sees as his most direct route to top power for him. He doesn’t want to be a Democratic senator anymore, or even merely a senator.
Be like Fonzie out there.
Monk graphic! YAY!!
I gotta say, I wish some teamsters were riding with Ned!
But the SEIU sure is. They may have a security “solution.”
When doing clinic duty in Wichita a few summers ago, the angry anti-choice folk were determined to start a ruckus. 2 things.
1. we were trained in “peaceful presence” we didn’t do or say anything that could be construed as taunting.
2. I happened to have a small bottle of wedding bubbles in my pack and when they got ugly or when the “fetus mobile” drove by, I just blew bubbles. They didn’t know what to do with that. Humor can be very disarming.
This is a time for going on with Ned’s plans and not allowing his events to be hijacked. Focus, humor, ease and good spirits and Ned WILL overcome.
The GOP Joe Lieberman Brownshirts come equipped with armbands; often invisible.
Ned Lamont needs security; Joe Leiberman has goons.
there isn’t enough sex blogging at fdl. sorry to say it, but it’s true.
Four more days and it’s going to get uglier by the minute.
Mike-the-hardball-sub made a good point when he was talking to Gerstein. How can the bloggers and Lamont supporters distort Lieberman’s record? He’s been there 18 years! Don’t you think the CT voters KNOW his record?
RevDeb,
Love the bubbles idea. Also, the not-so-subtle message that Joe’s been living in a bubble for the past 5 years…

I emailed Joe and said I read his paid supporters disrupted a Lamont campaign stop by screaming so loudly Lamont could not speak. I suggested Joe reexamine his campaign ethics and put a stop his people behaving in such a manner. Told him to build a float, put it on a pickup, and have it tag along after Lamont, but let the guy speak.
watertiger @ 95
The great irony is that they were in my pack left over from a civil union I had done in VT. a couple of weeks before. Glad to put them to use with the same kind of folks who would have freaked out over the CU.
dont feed the trolls, por favor.
I was just outside watering the big old oak tree. It’s so very dry here for the second year in a row and even on a cloudy day we are hitting a 100 degrees. Anyway my favorite old tree reminds me every day of our old Constitution. Both need water and care on occasion. That time is now.
People who would allow themselves to be hired or volunteer for such behavior are beneath contempt. Where were the police? Why wasn’t the elbow man arrested? Why wasn’t this story on the news tonight? Do HopeSAT and Eureka need to come up there with a can of whoop-whiz? Just kidding.)
Jane’s story describes a man (Senator Lamont), who will not falter under attack from vicious misguided souls. He maintained his position and confronted people with kindness. Another fine reason to vote for Senator Lamont, he wont be afraid of the war mongers tactics.
Mr. Lieberman will have to learn on his own time, to face truth and accept it, even when rabid lambs are the only critter he can count on to tell him. I hope someday he will.
I’ve got a couple of boxes of the bubbles I can bring down to CT for the weekend if they can be of use.
I EPU’d myself - which if I have to do every once in a while to keep my super powers.
But, echoing Lina, and in response to Fran
Evil Parallel Universe @ 246
It would be most helpful if the video taken at events with Lieberthugs could be used to identify outside agitators of the Republican persuasion (as was done by another Dem campaign, per the link in #86).
That evidence combined with all those Republican endorsements would convince all but the staunchest Lieberman supporters that he’s got to go.
I know this kind of goes against the tide here, but we don’t even know that these people were actually affiliated with Lieberman. It could have just as easily been Rovish people adding some untoward drama to a race in the Democratic Party.
The implications of this are subtle, but the most obvious of them is that unseating an incumbent can lead to unpleasant behavior indeed. And nobody wants that, so let’s just make it easy on ourselves and keep the powerbrokers where they are.
Hey, I have an idea…maybe Jane can’t be everywhere at once. Maybe Jane needed a meal, or a nap, or a shower or a moment alone. Maybe her poodles needed some Jane time.
You know, kinda like Christy needing some time for herself and her family.
Last I checked, these strong, hard-working, dedicated, principled, kick-ass intelligent women are not required to report their every move, and the reasons for it, to us or anyone else.
